New Flight From Oakland To Canada Debuts In May

OAKLAND, CA — People will be able to take direct flights between Oakland and Edmonton, Canada starting in May, Oakland International Airport officials announced Wednesday.
The flights by the low-cost Canadian airline Swoop will begin on May 26, with Boeing 737-800 planes flying on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with 189 seats available per flight.
The flights from Oakland would go to Edmonton International Airport in the capital of Canada's Alberta province.

"It is very exciting to begin 2019 by sharing that OAK's global roster of destinations will now extend to Canada," Port of Oakland director of aviation Bryant Francis said in a news release. "We trust that business and leisure travelers in both metropolitan areas will benefit from this new
connectivity."
