Officer Injured In Crash At Shooting Scene In Oakland

The police officer, hospitalized in stable condition, was at the crime scene Sunday evening on Peralta Street, authorities said.

OAKLAND, CA — Oakland Police have arrested a person involved in a shooting that preceded an officer's injuries from a collision on Sunday in Oakland.

On Monday, Police released more information about he Sunday shooting. OPD said a person fired a gun shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Peralta Avenue.

Officers saw the shooting and saw the shooter run into a nearby home afterward, according to police.

Another person sped away from the scene in a vehicle that allegedly hit an officer's marked vehicle. The crash injured the officer, but not seriously, police said.

Oakland police did not provide any other information about the shooting or the crash.
