• Eggy's on the move, Sweet Potatoes Up Beet Cafe shuts down and more restaurant closures (berkeleyside.org) — Three popular spots at Alameda's Harbor Bay Landing—La Val's Pizza, La Penca Azul, and China Villa—are temporarily closed because of plumbing problems at the shopping center on Island Drive. A final city inspection is expected in early September, which will determine when these restaurants can reopen to Bay Farm Island neighbors.
