Percussion Now Festival

Free Family-Friendly Drumming Celebration

Cost: Musical performances and kids classes are FREE.
Workshops: $20 each in advance/$25 at the door. All-access pass for five workshops $65 in advance/$75 at the door, if available.

Rhythmix Cultural Works presents Percussion NOW, Northern California’s largest family-friendly festival devoted to the drum. This FREE all-day party includes world music performances from 1 pm to 5 pm by Cuban percussionist Jesus Diaz, taiko fusion ensemble Maze Daiko, Afro-Cuban and Uruguayan ensemble LaTiDo with Edgardo Cambon, Haitian drum star Jeff Pierre, folkloric and modern African drum group the Rhythm Addicts, and Afro-Brazilian–influenced funk and hip hop group Rhythm Cafe featuring Bobby Wallace and friends. FREE kids classes begin at 10:30 am and include sessions in drumming, capoeira, and capoeira music. Low-cost workshops for adults and youth will take place throughout the day led by world-class percussionists. Each session is 1 hour and 15 minutes. Visit rhythmix.org for details.
