ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda firefighters rescued a person from the Rock Wall Monday afternoon, evacuating them by boat before being rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, according to the Alameda Fire Department.

It was the second rescue at the Rock Wall in as many days, after a boater got into trouble during Sunday's storm.

Monday's rescue began around 3 p.m. when the fire department was notified about the person stuck on the Rock Wall for a prolonged period of time. "Firefighters located the patient toward the end of the rock wall and started patient care, while additional crews were dispatched to launch a rescue boat," the fire department said in a statement. "Firefighters worked to load the patient onto the rescue boat and transport the patient to a waiting ambulance at the Encinal Boat Ramp."
