
ALAMEDA, CA - A power outage in Alameda this morning briefly left nearly 4,700 customers without power, according to Alameda Municipal Power officials.
The outage was first reported at 7:07 a.m. near the 1200 block of Main Street, utility spokeswoman Rebecca Irwin said.
The outage affected 4,696 customers on the west side of the city, according to Irwin.

Crews arrived on scene and discovered the outage was caused by a power pole that fell. The pole was attached to a transformer, which also went down with the pole, Irwin said.
Crews were able to quickly replace the pole.

Within 35 minutes, power was restored to about 95 percent of the affected customers. The remaining customers had their power restored by 8:15 a.m., according to Irwin.
