Resident Escapes Alameda Fire

The fire broke out Sunday evening.

ALAMEDA, CA — Firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out at a home Sunday evening in Alameda.

Fire crews responded at 5:07 p.m. to the home in the 900 block of Regent Street and found smoke and fire coming from the rear first-floor of the home.

The resident of the home evacuated before firefighters arrived at the scene.

Firefighters attacked the blaze, ventilated the home and searched the premises. Once the blaze was under control, crews conducted salvage and overhaul operations to ensure the fire didn't spread.
