Rolling Blackouts In Alameda Monday: List of Neighborhoods
Each blackout will last for about an hour before power is restored.
ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Municipal Power issued an appeal Monday morning for conservation, in an attempt to avoid rolling blackouts. However, at 2:45 p.m. the City of Alameda sent an alert that blackouts had been ordered by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) which oversees the state's energy use and ensures that the power grid has enough electricity to meet demand.
The advisory said that rotating outages would begin at 3 p.m. Each circuit will drop for about one hour before restoring power and moving to the next circuit. Here are the areas for the blackouts, which will happen in the following order:
- Mid-island, which includes west on Sherman to 9th Street; east on Sherman to Paru; south to Dayton, and north to parts of Marina Village
- East End, includes everything east of Broadway
- Bay Farm, includes the north and west sections of Bay Farm
