Salon, Day Spa to Open at South Shore Center

Two new tenants, ULTA Beauty and Total Woman Gym & Day Spa, have leased the space formerly occupied by Borders.

Two new tenants, ULTA Beauty and Total Woman Gym & Day Spa, have signed long-term leases at at , the center's owner, Jamestown Properties, announced Friday.

The two businesses will occupy the space formerly leased by Borders, at 2245 South Shore Center, the announcement said. The two-story space connected by an escalator is being converted to separate floors to accommodate the new tenants.

ULTA Beauty, which sells salon products and provides salon services, will occupy a 10,584-square-foot ground-floor space. As of January of this year, ULTA Beauty operated 449 stores in 43 states. The South Shore Center location is scheduled to open in the first half of 2013.

Total Woman Gym & Day Spa leased the full, 13,014-square-foot second floor, according to the Jamestown press release.  This is the company’s first location in the Bay Area, although it operates 15 spas in other parts of California. A December 2012 opening is planned.

With the addition of these retailers, the 594,000-square-foot, open-air shopping center is now 90 percent leased, the Jamestown announcement said.

DB Shoes and Bright Now! Dental also recently signed leases at South Shore Center totaling nearly 14,500 square feet, Jamestown said.
