Seussical the Musical at Kofman Auditorium August 7-9!
Tomorrow Youth Repertory presents this Dr. Seuss Musical Extravaganza with a cast of 70 Alameda youth

Alameda, CA, July 29, 2015 – Alameda’s Tomorrow Youth Repertory is proud to bring Seussical to the Alameda stage. The musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Seussical debuted on Broadway in 2000, followed by two national U.S. tours and a U.K. tour.
Based on characters and scenarios from the enormously popular books and beloved characters of Dr. Seuss, this touching and quirky musical comedy is a perfect mix of entertainment for both kids and adults. The plot largely mirrors that of Horton Hears a Who! Centering on Horton the Elephant’s attempts to protect the people of Who-ville, who live on a tiny speck of dust, Horton guides us on a journey from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the World of the Whos. With the mischievous Cat in the Hat as the host, you’ll recognize many of your favorite characters from Seuss books including Green Eggs and Ham, The Lorax, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas! In the end, a little boy with a big imagination proves that a person is a person no matter how small.
The musical score includes such unforgettable numbers as Horton and Jojo’s poignant Alone in the Universe, Gertrude’s Amazing Gertrude, Mayzie and The Cat’s catchy How Lucky You Are, ending with the entire cast singing their hearts out in Oh, the Thinks You Can Think.

About Tomorrow Youth Repertory
Tomorrow Youth Repertory was started in the summer of 2011 when Jordan Best, Amy Marie Haven, and Tyler Null met to discuss joining forces to offer weekly youth theater classes and productions. Operating for the first year as a sub-program of Alameda Children’s Musical Theater, and then becoming an independent non-profit in 2012, Tomorrow Youth Rep has been tireless in its pursuit of youth theater opportunities, offering multiple classes and camps to serve all experience levels, and serving hundreds of students. Tomorrow Youth Repertory prides itself on its ability to offer a full theater experience for young actors, and for providing individual attention for every student — whether they have been acting and singing for ten years, or have never been on stage.
