Springtime Storytime, Crafts & Pop-Up Shops!

Join us, two of our local authors from 1-3:00pm on Saturday, March 26th for children's book readings, crafts and artisan goods! Free event

This year is full of firsts! Join us for our first ever Storytime on Saturday, March 26th, with two of our artists-turned-authors, Jane Bahk (Pop Up Tops) and Tomoko Maruyama!

Book readings will begin at 1pm. Each author will read their own book, and one of their personal favorites to share with the crowd. There will then be craft-making stations for the kids, prepared and demo'd by the authors themselves. And don't forget to pick up copy of each book and get them signed by Jane and Tomoko!

Although this is a ***FREE*** event for the whole family, both artists will have Pop-Up Shop tables at Storytime with their adorable collections available for purchase.

Seating and sitting areas will both be available indoors, but feel free to BYOB (bring your own blanket) if you like! Both books are currently available at Modern Mouse for purchase, so feel free to swing on by to check 'em out before the event. We look forward to seeing you and your families!

RSVP by clicking the "Going" button so we're sure to have plenty of snacks and craft supplies.

PLUS! Alameda South Shore Center is hosting its annual Easter Festival, which goes from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and is a blast for the kids. So plan to spend your afternoon at the center!

Brief description of Juna's Jar by Jane Bahk:

"Sometimes a simple, everyday object can take you away on great adventures. Juna and her best friend, Hector, have many adventures together, and they love to collect things in empty kimchi jars. Then one day, Hector unexpectedly moves away without having a chance to say good-bye. Juna is heartbroken and left to wonder who will on go on adventures with her. Determined to find Hector, Juna turns to her special kimchi jar for help each night. She plunges into the depths of the ocean, swings on vines through the jungle, and flies through the night sky in search of her friend. What Juna finds is that adventure and new friends can be found in the most unexpected places."

Brief description of A Wish from San Francisco by Tomoko Maruyama:

"To celebrate the birthday of his friend Maya, Luke has prepared a strawberry cake. He embarks on an exciting journey through San Francisco with their best friends. A lovely surprise awaits them at Maya’s house. What is that surprise? Find out in this charming tale of friendship and gratitude happening in one of the most beautiful cities in the world!"
