Sprouts & Shutters: Restaurants Closing and Moving

J.P. Seafood has changed locations. The restaurant re-opened in late November inside Dan's Produce at 2300 Central Ave. The seafood restaurant was located at Chestnut-Encinal Market on Chestnut Street.

The Chestnut-Encinal Market has closed. The grocery at 1202 Chestnut St. shut its doors about a week ago.

The Woori Market has also gone out of business. The small grocery store at 1241 Park St. closed last Thursday.

The Ching Hua restaurant is also reportedly closed. Readers told us the windows at the eatery at 1650 Park St. are papered over. East End Pizza employees say they will be taking over that space in April. The pizza restaurant will be moving from its current location in the same building. The eatery remains open until the move.

Pearl's Deluxe Burgers is out of business, too. The restaurant closed up shop a week ago. The Oakland Tribune reported the owner told city officials that food trucks had cut into his customer base.
