Sprouts & Shutters: Halal Restaurant Replacing Kabob Central, Store-Closing Sale at Blockbuster
Kabob Central is now under new ownership. Q's Halal Chicken plans to serve certified halal food. Also, Blockbuster at South Shore Center if offering big sales before it closes on April 27.

*Editor's note, owner Q Samad later contacted Patch saying the restaurant will actually only be serving certified halal food, not Kosher.
After almost three years of operation, it appears Kabob Central is out of business.

The restaurant, located at 2306 Central Ave., opened in June 2010 and closed down about a month ago.
It featured chicken, beef, lamb and vegetable kabobs in a refurbished facility.

Q's Halal Kitchen is going in its place. The family-run restaurant plans to serve certified halal food according to owner Q Samad. He said he hopes to open by this Saturday, March 9.
"We're trying to go as green as possible," he said.
Blockbuster in South Shore Center is going out of business. The video rental store is offering sales on all video, show and game rentals along with the store's fixtures, furniture and equipment.
According to a store employee, they will officially close on April 27.
