Summer Computer Classes through August 22, 2013 at Alameda Multicultural Community Center

The Alameda Multicultural Community Center offers summer computer classes from June 18- August 22, 2013 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am-1pm.

These self-paced classes are designed for those with little or no computer experience, and are for beginning to intermediate students. Typing programs are available and students may work on individual projects.

Each of the classes meets for a total of 8 sessions. Fees are $10 for every two hour class. Students may sign up for classes throughout the summer session if space is available.

Register by coming into the Multicultural Center in person, by emailing computerlab@alamedamulticultural.org , or by phone at 510-355-6984. Provide contact information and the name of the class. Certificates will be available upon completion of class.

Class 1 is on Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers, and Microsoft Word. Students will learn to use the Mouse and Keyboard; set up an email account and learn how to send email; attach files, graphic and music; learn how to search the Internet and how to use social media programs; learn how to conduct research, write term papers, job search, write resumes, scan and send documents. Class 2 is on Computer Applications: MS Excel, PowerPoint & Publisher. Students will learn how to use office application software, like Microsoft Office: word processing with MS Word; spread-sheets with MS Excel; graphics and desktop publishing with MS Publisher; slideshow presentations with MS Power Point.
