Teen Stabbed During Fight At High School In East Bay

Multiple teens were detained in connection with the fight.

OAKLAND, CA — A teen was taken to the hospital after being stabbed during a fight involving multiple kids at Oakland's Castlemont High School on Thursday morning, according to police and fire officials.

Oakland Fire Department crews responded to a reported assault on the campus at 8601 MacArthur Blvd. at about 10:25 a.m.

"The patient was transported and listed in stable condition," according to OFD spokesperson Michael Hunt.

Police officials said the teen was "injured by a bladed object during a fight with other juveniles."

Officials from the Oakland Unified School District didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
