The bridge is up *&^%!. (Again)

Before I begin my little rant, let me say that this is definitely a #firstworldproblem.  I am about to complain about the delays incurred while returning to my nice house on a tree lined street with happy, smiling, rich white people all around.

The Fruitvale and Park St bridges were up TWICE the other day.  Ordinarily, I'd have no problem with this - the Coast Guard just doing their job of saving lives, or regular boat traffic which has a right to pass during certain hours.

Except that these hours were 9:15am and 6:00pm (DURING RUSH HOURS) and the passing boats appeared to be crafts of leisure.

What's up with that?  There certainly ought to be no-go hours except for emergencies, which clearly there are not.  Since these bridges are maintained by the State of California, who can we complain to about this terrible, tragic state of affairs?

Also, Alameda could really use an Ethiopian restaurant.
