Vehicle Crashes Into Seaplane Lagoon, Man Pulled From Water

The rescue happened during the predawn hours of Monday.

ALAMEDA, CA — A person was rescued Monday morning from Seaplane Lagoon by Alameda firefighters, fire officials said on Facebook.

Firefighters responded at 3:20 a.m. to the 1000 block of West Tower Avenue at Alameda Point, after someone reported that a vehicle was in the water.

Rescue swimmers located a person in the water who was unconscious and not breathing, fire officials said. The person was taken to a trauma center after firefighters provided medical aid.

Fire officials did not say whether they expected the person to survive. Divers searched the water for additional victims and found none, according to the fire department.
