
Four Albany Police officers were recognized on Wednesday Feb. 8, 2012, at a law enforcement recognition and training seminar in Fremont, CA, presented by MADD California and the AVOID the 21 Alameda County DUI Program. The event honors city police officers, California Highway Patrol officers and sheriff’s deputies for their skills in finding, testing and arresting DUI suspects.
Following several speakers, including Christopher Murphy, Director of the California Office of Traffic Safety, and Dr. David Manning, Regional Administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Albany Officers Chris Beck, William Boehm, Michael Gibson, and Peter O’Connor each received recognition for their work in combating the crime of Driving Under the Influence during the campaign year.
Officer Chris Beck was also recognized for making 13 arrests during the Alameda County AVOID campaign.
