Come to the Pacific Film Archive on Tuesday March 8 to see "Pelada", a documentary following Luke and Gwendolyn, two former college soccer stars who didn't quite make it to the pros. Not ready for it to be over, they take off, chasing the game. From prisoners in Bolivia to moonshine brewers in Kenya, from freestylers in China to women who play in hijab in Iran, Pelada is the story of the people who play.
Make it a team reunion/outing! Come see the movie that the New York Times said is "Brimming with energy and optimism...an extended love letter to soccer...rings close to pitch-perfect..." Pelada, a family-friendly film about pick-up soccer in 25 countries around the world, plays for one night only at Pacific Film Archive.
Check out the film, and enjoy Albany Pizza and water at the show. $5 of each ticket sale along with pizza profits benefit Albany High and El Cerrito High Boys Soccer Programs. Get your tickets in advance to this limited seating showing!
