The City’s Recreation Department will be offering a volunteer opportunity for eighth-graders in need to hours for the Service Project (and for middle schoolers who just want to volunteer).
This year it will be lead by Jennifer Sloan and Nir Maoz. Below is some information about the event.
This year, our Holiday Hoopla will be on Thursday, Dec. 15. This holiday event will be from 4-5:30 p.m. and will consist of games, music and crafts focusing on the four winter holidays from various cultures.

We will spend 10-15 days preparing for the event. Each meeting we will learn, in great detail, about all of the holidays and the cultures they come from, brainstorm activities for the event, test out each craft and game, ect.
The next meeting is on Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 3-5 p.m. at the Teen Center. One thing we like to stress is that if any one student does not think they can make every meeting, can only come once a week, or cannot stay the full two hours, they are still gladly welcomed.
