Daughter Of Bay Area Radio Legend Gets Jail Time For Faking 'Bachelor' Pregnancy

The woman targeted multiple men in the scheme, including a former "Bachelor Star," according to a KRON4 report.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The daughter of a longtime Bay Area radio personality was ordered to serve jail time and nearly a decade of probation in connection with a fake pregnancy scheme targeting multiple men, including a "Bachelor" star, according to a KRON4 report.

Laura Michelle Owens, the daughter of retired KGO broadcaster Ronn Owens, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and seven years of probation after admitting to two counts of fraudulent schemes and artifices, one count of perjury, and one count of taking the identity of another, according to the report.

Owens targeted "The Bachelor" star Clayton Echard and at least one other man after falsifying ultrasound images, fabricating medical records and providing false testimony in a pregnancy fraud scheme, according to the report.

Owens, 36, originally from the Bay Area but now of Scottsdale, Arizona, began targeting Echard in 2023, when she filed a paternity lawsuit against the TV personality, claiming she was pregnant with his twins and seeking child support, according to the report.

Echard disputed the allegations, and Owens later dropped the lawsuit, saying she had suffered a miscarriage, according to the Maricopa County District Attorney's Office.
