Golden Gate Audubon Bird Walk at the Albany Mudflats and the Albany Bulb with Rusty Scalf

This walk will view the mudflats, where the mud is exposed and birds are close to the shoreline.  There is an observation platform, and many shorebirds can be seen, including possible Long-billed Curlew, Whimbrel, Dowitchers, Black-bellied and Semipalmated Plovers, Western and Least Sandpipers and Sanderling, as well as many other shorebirds.

From the Brower Center:  Walk to Center St & Shattuck Sq., Berkeley – (5 min walk) Continue along Allston Way, Berkeley (0.03 miles).  Turn right at Shattuck Ave., ( 0.09 miles)  Take the AC Transit – 25 – towards El Cerrito Plaza Bart Station, El Cerrito 9:19am – Board, NE Corner of Shattuck Sq & Center St  9:41am – Off Board, NE Corner of Buchanan St & Pierce St. Fare $ 2.00 (22 min ride) Walk to 80 Buchanan St, Albany – (13 min walk) Continue along Buchanan St, Albany 0.54 miles
