Michael is one of a very few painters responsible for continuing the art of ledger painting which almost died out in the last 60 years. Using vintage water colors and pen & ink on antique documents from the reservation era of the late 1800s and early 1900s, he depicts scenes of the period.
Coming from a long line of jewelers, Michael creates both traditional and contemporary adornments. Using only the finest turquoise, coral, and other stones, his Katsina pieces are highly sought after. He is a master inlay artist whose "micro-inlay" rings are amazingly intricate and his signature "horse" jewelry is always in high demand.
Join us on Friday evening for a reception to celebrate this special event and stay for a lecture on ledger paintings with Michael Horse.
