Canconier presents pieces from 14th and 15th-century Italy. This was a time in our history that saw the birth of a "New Art" in music, and the beginning of the Renaissance in literature, painting, and sculpture. Francesco Petrarch (1307-74), was the first poet laureate since Antiquity, and the father of Humanism.
