AHS sports families are invited to the first semi-annual members meeting of PAHS (Promoting Albany High Sports).
At this meeting, we will introduce our new Athletic Director, Andrew Strawbridge (he will take the helm on July 1, 2011), learn about how PAHS is organized and the different roles people can play, elect officers, and begin to make plans for the 2011-12 school year.
PAHS was formed earlier this year to replace the AHS Athletic Boosters organization. It arose out of a belief that our athletic program needed to be taken in a new direction with a fresh burst of energy to get us started. The new organization will not only be engaged in supporting our student-athletes financially but will also step up to build enthusiasm and a new community spirit around interscholastic sports at Albany High.
You have a unique opportunity to affect the direction of this new organization and the Albany High School athletic program. I look forward to working with all of you, our new Athletic Director, and an outstanding team of coaches to build a spirit and commitment to interscholastic sports that our students, their families and the entire Albany community deserve.
