The Rodent to Rodent Concert

Albany-based musician/performer Sparky Grinstead and his son, Matthew Joseph Payne, present: THE RODENT TO RODENT CONCERT

Sparky Grinstead, who recently reactivated his musical career after almost 25 years, is teaming with his multi-instrumentalist son, Matthew Joseph Payne to present music from Sparky's wildly experimental unreleased 1984 album, Rodent to Rodent. Sparky and Matt met in 2008 when Matt was 24 and immediately bonded with each other through their love of music. When Matt heard the tapes of the Rodent to Rodent sessions (the album was mixed and mastered when Sparky abandoned the project in '84 - the year of Matt's birth) he initiated this collaboration which will also result in the release of the album - now featuring father and son versions - on the day of the concert. They will each perform with their respective bands. The performance, which will feature, besides music, dance, spoken word and...other stuff... will be emcee'd by Jonathan Mann of "Song-a-Day" fame!
