BERKELEY, CA — A man who was shot just two blocks south of the University of California at Berkeley campus late Saturday night is still in critical condition at Highland Hospital in Oakland, Berkeley police said today.

The shooting was reported at about 11:08 p.m. on Saturday at Haste and Dana streets, according to Berkeley police Lt. Alyson Hart.

Officers who responded to the scene found a 35-year-old man lying in the middle of the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Hart said. The man was then taken to Highland.
