Photo Feature: Artshack Opens on Gilman

Driving past the corner of Gilman and Santa Fe on any given weekend, you may be surprised to see a small hut in a parking lot surrounded by art of several varieties. Until recently, the petite building remained a shuttered mystery to many.

Lifelong Albany resident Matt Breault said he connected with the Artshack's owner, Stoye Milburn, and the two artists decided it was time to throw open the doors and windows, and let a little light in on the weekends. There's art for sale, and those who are interested can peek inside the Artshack to see where the artists work.

The new space had its grand opening from July 2-4 and plans to be open on weekends, Breault said.
