Oak Grove Elementary on Lockdown

Bomb-sniffing dogs are on the Aliso Viejo campus.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Originally posted at 11:22 a.m. Sept. 25, 2014. Edited to add photo, details. The school district does not consider today’s event a “lockdown,” which it defines specifically as a situation in the area in which students are in danger. However, Patch is choosing to use the plain-language meaning to communicate a situation where students and staff are not free to move about.

UPDATE at 1:31 p.m.: The school has been given the all-clear.
