• Antioch May Spend $662,000 on 55 License Plate Cameras and Police AI Tools Bay Area Telegraph (bayareatelegraph.com) — Antioch officials are weighing a $661,687 contract to install 55 fixed license plate cameras, add in-car systems to six patrol vehicles, and buy 120 AI translation licenses for officers, all from Axon. The proposal, up for a council vote on August 25, would significantly expand the city's surveillance network while consolidating existing Motorola and Flock cameras and raising ongoing questions about data retention and privacy safeguards.
