• County plans fire-resilient design for Eaton Canyon Nature Center (heysocal.com) — Arcadia locals recently hosted county officials and architects at the LA County Arboretum for a public unveiling of fire-resilient designs for the Eaton Canyon Nature Center. The planned horseshoe-shaped building would use stone, steel, rooftop sprinklers and on-site water tanks to better withstand wildfires, backed by $16 million in state funding and extensive modeling of a century of fire and weather patterns.
