Search Ends for Sexual Assault Suspect at Arcadia Hotel; Man Still the Loose

Police identified the suspect as Adrian Chavez, 41, who has several tattoos across his forehead, neck and on the side of his face.

ARCADIA, CA - Arcadia police on Wednesday ended a nearly eight-hour search for an alleged sexual assault suspect at an Arcadia hotel after determining the man was not there, authorities said.

Police began the search at the Santa Anita Inn in the 100 block of West Huntington Drive about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, after a woman told police she was sexually and physically assaulted inside one of the rooms, said Arcadia police Sgt. Tony Juarez.

Police set up a perimeter and evacuated guests from the inn. Police entered the alleged suspect's room about 4 a.m. but the man wasn't there, according to media reports.

"Efforts are now underway in order to locate him," Juarez said. Police identified the suspect as 41-year-old Adrian Chavez. He is Latino and has several tattoos across his forehead, neck and on the side of his face.
