• 2027 Rose Court to be announced next week, with $7,500 scholarships on the line (dailynews.com) — Arcadia residents can cheer on Arcadia High School students Madeline Wong, Ksheeraja Chilkepalli, and Daniela Guzman, who are among the finalists for the 2027 Rose Court and its $7,500 scholarships. They join candidates from Pasadena-area schools after a month of interviews assessing leadership, academics, and community involvement, with the seven-member court to be announced next week.
   

• Forged Steel Secures BC Classic Berth In Goodwood (miamiherald.com) — A major stakes race at Santa Anita in Arcadia saw longshot Forged Steel capture the $300,000 Goodwood and earn an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Classic. The 4-year-old colt, ridden by Edwin Gonzalez, took command on the second turn and held off stablemate Caldera, while favorite Nevada Beach settled for third after a long layoff.
