74-Year-Old Yucaipa Woman Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Crosswalk
The victim was hit in the intersection of Yucaipa Boulevard and 5th Street.
YUCAIPA, CA — A septuagenarian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Yucaipa on Monday, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The victim, identified only as a 74-year-old Yucaipa woman, was hit at approximately 9:44 a.m. in the intersection of Yucaipa Boulevard and 5th Street.
The sheriff's department reported that a teal 2006 Hyundai Tucson SUV was traveling north on 5th Street, made a right onto Yucaipa Boulevard, and struck the woman in a marked crosswalk.

The victim died at the scene, according to the sheriff's department.
The Hyundai driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation; neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to the collision, the sheriff's department reported.

The eastbound lanes of Yucaipa Boulevard remained closed for several hours while deputies conducted an investigation. The road was reopened at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Monday.
