Banning, Beaumont Nonprofits Encouraged To Apply For CDBG Money
The federal funding is distributed through the cities, and nonprofits that serve Banning and Beaumont have until Oct. 31 to apply.
PASS AREA, CA — Nonprofit organizations that serve Banning and Beaumont residents could receive federal funding to help their causes.
The cities are now accepting applications from nonprofits for their 2023/2024 Community Development Block Grant cycles. Funds must be used between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
The CDBG program is a federally funded program that annually awards grants to local governments for the purpose of improving residents' lives, especially those with low- and moderate-income levels.

In order to qualify, CDBG-funded projects must satisfy one of three national program objectives:
- Provide a benefit to low- and moderate-income persons,
- Prevent or eliminate slums and blight, or
- Meet other urgent community development needs due to natural disasters or other emergencies.
