The council recently selected a replacement for Mark Orozco.

BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont's newest councilman will take the dais on Tuesday, as he is formally sworn into his new role. Rey Santos was recently appointed to the council with a 4-0 vote following the vacancy left by a disgraced former councilman, Mark Orozco.
The 65-year-old is the president/broker of Saints Realty Inc. and served as the Vice-Chair of the Beaumont Finance and Audit Committee before his appointment, according to city officials. His appointed term will last through Nov. 2018.
Santos' swearing in ceremony is set for 5 p.m. at city hall, 550 E. 6th Street.
