Beaumont Police Crash Little Girl's Birthday Party, Make Her Day

"My daughter told me today was the best day ever! And she can't wait to grow up and be an officer."

BEAUMONT, CA – When young Avery Sibole turned 5 this month, all she wanted was a police-themed birthday party. So her mom obliged and, even though she didn't think they'd be able to make it out – she messaged the Beaumont Police Department to see if they might stop by for a special appearance.

"I wasn't sure if they would come, they have a very busy job," Amber Garcia Sibole says of the festivities, which took place on Sunday.

Sure enough, though, the police department didn't take the VIP invitation lightly and managed to squeeze in an appearance for the birthday girl. Four officers rolled up to the scene, lights flashing – and even had special gifts in tow including a bicycle and doll.

"My daughter was shocked at first, then she couldn't stop smiling!" Sibole told Patch. "When she saw the police pull in with the lights, she ran to get her police hat and then ran to his car waving at him!"

The police department tells Patch that things aligned well with the workload on the day of the party, enabling the officers to head out.

"Fortunately, there was a break in the work and the officers were able to give her a nice surprise," Beaumont Police Chief Sean Thuillez told Patch. "I'm really glad they made it... It just shows that staff here at the police department truly care about the residents... It's nice to work in a town where you're invited to be a part of these special events."

The officers, Corporal Macias, Officer Hess, Sgt. Sananikone and Officer Crewswere pictured below, were able to stay for about 20 minutes before they got a call and had to leave. But before they parted ways, they let the the party guests take photos in their vehicles.

"It was so exciting, they were the nicest men," Sibole said. "Everyone at the party applauded the cops for coming, and shook their hands thanking them."

For Avery, it will surely be a day for the record books.

"My daughter told me today was the best day ever! And she can't wait to grow up and be an officer," her mom said. "They handed out badge stickers to all the kids, and she wants hers to stay on her uniform forever."
