Discovering Oak Glen Preserve

I did not grow up in the Pass area so I am still exploring. I love when I find new places to go and when those places are FREE, well the chances of me going there again are pretty good.

My kids are I particpate in the Beaumont library programs and through them was introduced to the S.O.A.R program. A collaboration between the Beaumont Library and the Oak Glen Wildland's Conservacy Program. They were putting on a story time at the Oak Glen Preserve. There the kids listened to a story under trees and were allowed to explore the forest floor then made a craft.

After the craft and story time we had a few minutes to check out the rest of the preserve. It is filled with stroller-friendly and dog friendly trails with beautiful views. A great place to take the kids to walk and burn some energy. And bonus.... the weather is usually a bit cooler up there.

I am looking forward to spending some more time up there exploring the trails with my kids. It is always awesome to find something so cool right in your own backyard!
