Deadline Extended for 'Reach For the Stars' Talent Competition in Banning

Due to numerous requests, the deadline for entering the "Reach For the Stars" talent competition has been extended to Jan. 20.

The competition, scheduled March 3-4 at the San Gorgonio Ballet on West Ramsey Street, features a $1,000 grand prize, other cash prizes, scholarships and trophies, according to organizers.

Song and dance entrants are invited in categories including ballet, contemporary, tap and hiphop.  

The contest has multiple age groups, with room for contestants as young as 4, and up to 15 and older, said Julia Olsen Vitous, director of the .
