Earthquake Strikes IE Overnight, Wakes SoCal: Did You Feel It?
A 3.8 quake struck Ontario in the middle of the night Thursday, waking residents across the Southland.
ONTARIO, CA — A magnitude of 3.8 earthquake struck overnight just outside of Ontario in San Bernardino County shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday, and was felt across the southland, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.
The temblor was felt in Banning, Beaumont, and across the Inland Empire and surrounding counties as far as Los Angeles and San Diego.
The Did You Feel It report shows Banning, Beaumont, Hemet, Lake Elsinore, and Temecula residents in Riverside County and from Thousand Oaks to Long Beach in Los Angeles County. Residents from the San Diego County cities of San Clemente and Escondido also felt the quake.

According to the USGS, the earthquake originated around 8 miles underground.
