Fiery RivCo Crash That Killed 2 Women: Arrest Announced

A 33-year-old San Bernardino man is suspected of causing the fatal wreck while driving drunk.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A deadly crash that killed two women in Jurupa Valley has led to the arrest of a San Bernardino man who is suspected of driving drunk and causing the wreck, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday.

Josue Ayala Flores, 33, was taken into custody Sunday, according to jail records.

The fiery two-vehicle crash was reported at about 6:10 p.m. Friday at Mission Boulevard and Pedley Road in Jurupa Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found one vehicle on fire with three women inside. One woman died at the scene while the other two were taken to Riverside Community Hospital. One of the women died at the hospital and the other, who was the driver, sustained serious injuries but was expected to survive, according to the sheriff's department.

The identities of the women have not been released.

The driver of the other vehicle, Flores, was also taken to a hospital with injuries and subsequently arrested. According to jail records, he was on active parole at the time of the crash.

Flores was booked into Riverside's Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of causing great bodily injury while intoxicated, violating terms of his state parole, and multiple counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

No bail has been set for him and he is due in court Wednesday.
