Woman Accused Of Having Sex With Student Was ‘Teacher Of The Year’
The victim is a 16-year-old student and police believe there may be others, authorities said.

YUCAIPA, CA — A Yucaipa High School teacher accused of having sex with a student was named Teacher of the Year in 2017, according to a report from the time.
Tracy Vanderhulst, 38, is charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, police said. The Yucaipa resident was arrested and booked Thursday into jail in San Bernardino before being released on $30,000 bail, according to court records.

In 2017, the News Mirror reported Vanderhulst had been announced Yucaipa High School’s Teacher of the Year at a spring school board meeting. Vanderhulst was described in the article as a “kind and innovative teacher,” “who strives to engage all of her students.”
