Friday Street Closures For Beaumont's Veterans Day Parade
The parade and ceremony require road closures beginning at 8 a.m.
BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont is hosting its second annual Veterans Day Parade beginning at 10 a.m. Friday at the intersection of 10th Street and Beaumont Avenue.
The parade route ends at the Beaumont Civic Center, 550 Beaumont Ave., with an 11 a.m. ceremony.
Both events are free to attend, but motorists are advised that street closures will be in place beginning at 8 a.m.:

- Beaumont Avenue – between 12th Street and 6th Street
- 6th Street – between Beaumont Avenue and Palm Avenue
- 12th Street – between Euclid Avenue and Magnolia Avenue
- 10th Street – between Euclid Avenue and Magnolia Avenue
- 7th Street – between Magnolia Avenue and Orange Avenue
- Magnolia Avenue – between 7th Street and 6th Street
- Palm Avenue (southbound) – between 7th Street and 6th Street
"Plan accordingly to avoid the area or join us to help honor and celebrate our Veterans," the city advised.
The entire community is invited to turn out Friday.

"All [parade] entries will honor and pay tribute to the men and women who have bravely served our nation in the United States Armed Forces," according to the city. "Viewing areas are available along the parade route with the announcers’ booths located at the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and the Beaumont Civic Center."
Local veteran Joe Harrison will be the parade's grand marshal. Harrison is a 99-year-old WWII vet who served and survived 30 months of combat. Part of the pre-Navy Seal's Special Forces Operations, the legendary Marine Raiders, Harrison served in Carlson's 2nd Battalion, the 4th Regiment, the 1st Provisional Brigade, and the famous 6th Marine Division, according to the city. Immediately following the parade, Beaumont will host its third annual Veterans Day Ceremony on the front lawn of the Beaumont Civic Center. The event will include a welcome reception followed by remarks from local dignitaries.
