Mayor Lloyd White And The Easement Scandle
While White gets free landscape services others get threatening letters to clean up

In a recent article on Mind Your Own Beaumont It was published that the City of Beaumont has started sending out notices to clean up easement areas.
"It has been reported that the city has now started sending out code enforcement letters. The letters tell property owners they have 14 days to clean up their “easement areas”. Failure to correct may subject property to administrative actions. What is “administrative actions”? Is this where the city cleans up and sends a bill to the owner? The council using bully tactics to cover up the discriminatory actions of Mayor White."
August 22 2017 the city sent out a "Courtesy Notice" to a homeowner with a "side yard" or easement area. The easement area was once taken care of by the City of Beaumont pre 2014. After councilman Lloyd White was elected too council city staff stopped maintaining these areas. The cause was due to layoffs of city employees. During this time the easement area owned by Mayor White continued to be maintained even after the city laid offs.

Mayor White, Nancy Carroll, Julio Martinez, Mike Lara and Mark Orozco approved hiring 30 additional city staff. The council also approved the costly process of recording the easement for White's property as a "landscape easement". This is so the city can continue maintaining White's property while the other citizens are being discriminated against. Now that Mayor White claims a $6 Million reserve and the hiring of additional staff, these areas once maintained should immediately start being maintained by the city. Not just Mayor White's property!
If the council does not direct staff to begain maintenance on these areas, I will be calling for a peaceful protest outside of Mayor White's property being maintained by the city. It is not fair the City only maintain a city official property while ignoring many other private citizens property once maintained by the city. If one gets their "side yard" maintained then all MUST get their maintained. Those of you interested may email me at mindyourownbeaumont@gmail.com
