WEATHER ALERT: Part of Beaumont Under Frost Advisory
The frost advisory follows a series of cold weather warnings issued by the NWS over the past week.

Frost and cold early morning temperatures were expected Monday and Tuesday in citrus-friendly sections of Riverside County, threatening outdoor plants and animals with frigid overnight conditions.

The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory Sunday for the Coachella Valley and the floor of the Inland Empire, which will go into effect at midnight Monday.
The advisory was extended until 8 a.m. Tuesday for the Coachella Valley, with temperatures expected below 32 degrees in some places. The cities of Coachella, Mecca, Indio and Thermal were identified as having the greatest potential for below freezing conditions.

Inland Empire cities will also be under a frost advisory until 8 a.m. Monday, “mainly for wind-sheltered and outlying areas.” Some cities identified in the advisory included Corona, Hemet, Perris, Lake Elsinore, and Temecula.

Frost advisories indicate threats to sensitive outdoor vegetation, which may be killed if left uncovered, according to the NWS. Safeguarding unprotected crops, sensitive plants and pets was recommended.
