Police Arrest Man in Belmont Car Burglary Spree
The suspect is connected with a series of vehicle burglaries from Millbrae to Redwood City.

After several weeks of cooperative effort between six San Mateo County law enforcement agencies, a suspect connected with a series of has been arrested.
According to a spokesman for the , Matthew Justin Garcia, a 26 year old transient, was arrested without incident on May 17 in San Bruno.

Garcia has been charged in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries in Belmont, San Mateo, Redwood City, Hillsborough and Millbrae. He was also charged in connection with a stolen vehicle that he was driving at the time of his arrest.
Police say that the that occurred in April in the Hallmark neighborhood have been attributed to Garcia.

Investigators from the Belmont, San Mateo, Redwood City, Hillsborough and San Bruno police departments as well as the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office worked on the joint investigation.
“This is another example of the ongoing close cooperative relationship law enforcement agencies in San Mateo County enjoy,” said Belmont Police Chief Don Mattei.
“Crime and criminals don’t respect jurisdictional lines and law enforcement agencies must work together,”Mattei added.
The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office has not yet released a booking photo of Garcia.
