Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your surf report. Well, we're seeing more energy out there and that's providing plenty of playful size waves!
The conditions are starting off mostly clean and glassy, with a combination of modest west-northwest swell, some northwest energy and southerly swell in the mix. That recipe is providing some workable lines, with a few fast sections.
Most spots in the Seal Beach area are seeing knee-to-chest-high waves, with the focal points pulling a few shoulder high sets. Now if you're an SUPer who's looking to ride on some flat water, then you'll definitely want to hit up the Belmont Shore stretch of coast where there are basically no waves.

Unfortunately, we're still dealing with those extreme tides...so if you can you'll want to get out there once the tide has dropped a bit, but before it drains out all the way.
At 9:26 this morning the tide climbs up to a 5.4 high which will have many breaks off to a slow start. The tide then drops to a negative 0.3 low at 4:07 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, you'll need at least a 3/2 full-suit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
