📰 News we're reading

• California gas prices could reach a level predicted in a apocalyptic horror film (wheninyourstate.com) — Benicia readers should know Valero has fully shut down refining at its local facility, pushing Northern California to rely more on imported gasoline as statewide prices hover above $6 per gallon. The piece explains how refinery closures, special fuel rules, and crude costs all combine to keep California pump prices far above the national average.
