Rosie's Cafe - The Mother Hen of Benicia's Industrial Park

Lunch with the Editor in one of the coziest cafes in the Industrial Park with the sweetest mother hen of an owner, Rosie.

When I first visited Rosie's, I was still in lovestruck mode from the smell of the open grill and stove on my hair. My first dish here was the chicken sandwich with mushrooms and Swiss cheese with a side of onion rings.

Now let's talk about the onion rings. I still carry a crush, no, infatuation with Rosie's onion rings. If I could live on onion rings, I'd choose Rosie's.

What is extremely memorable of Rosie's diner is Rosie herself and her servers. The all-around smiles that just beam over all of the patrons in the restaurant and the noticeable gravitation pull of the people that are regulars and/or want to be regulars (i.e. like myself). Rosie is such a trooper to feed the masses of hungry industrial workers in the area. And I can see why. Comfort, comfort, comfort. That is how I would describe the food. Completely belly good.

I came here last week with JB, our wonderful Patch editor. Whom I discovered we have a literal three, four, five degree of separation. Of course indulgence was a must because we both ordered a dish with bacon. And usually when I meet someone new I don't dive into the really good stuff, like taking advantage of the onion rings. Oh but next time, for sure, I'll indulge and indulge well.

Safety dish with an order of the BLT on wheat and side of french fries, I know why I love this place so much. Maybe its the single grill/stove flavor or that hidden cafe that serves you food that keeps you coming back multiple times. Or if you want to meet one of the sweetest host, cooks, owners in the Benicia area; I suggest you come down to Rosie's.
