Honda Driver Dies In I-80, Hwy 37 Rollover Crash

BREAKING: The driver was ejected when his vehicle overturned, according to the CHP.

VALLEJO, CA -- UPDATED: The Solano County coroner's office has identified a driver who died in a solo vehicle crash in Vallejo this morning as Edgar Alejandro Alvarez, 24, of Vallejo. Alvarez was driving a 1997 Honda Civic on the Interstate Highway 80 eastbound transition road to westbound state Highway 37 when he made an unsafe turn, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Honda overturned, ejecting Alvarez who suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at 6:20 a.m., according to the coroner's office.

CHP officials have not determined the time of the crash but said they believe it happened some time after midnight.
